by Major League Fishing Communications

Eight Major League Fishing anglers finished among the Top-12 this weekend as the B.A.S.S. Elite Series season got underway on Georgia’s Lake Seminole.

Todd Faircloth finished in second place, while Mark Davis was third, Takahiro Omori fourth and Kevin Short fifth.

Aaron Martens, the 2013 B.A.S.S. Angler-of-the-Year, placed sixth.

Shaw Grigsby, after leading on opening day, finished eighth, Byron Velvick ninth and Andy Montgomery eleventh.

Faircloth, Short and Montgomery are part of the recently announced Major League Fishing Selects, which begin this year.

The Elite Series anglers face back-to-back events, as they head this week to the St. John’s River in Florida.
